Taiyu-ji temple was founded in the year 821 by Kouboudaishi. This temple belongs to Shingon sect.
Temmangu Shrine is the most famous of all Tenjin shrines in Japan. Every July it hosts the Tenjin Matsuri, considered one of the three great festivals of Japan.
The former shrine hall was constructed in 949 A.D. under Emperor Murakami’s. The new one was built in 1845.

Around the castle gardens and Mint House still remains some stronger kinds of sakura trees.
Facing the main entrance of the castle is Hōkoku Shrine.
